FM 744 Accident Leaves One Dead, And Another Injured

A two-vehicle accident on FM 744 just seven miles south of Frost around 10 a.m. Sunday morning, leaves a Hill County woman fatally injured and one man injured with broken bones, after their 2005 Triumph Rocket III motorcycle they were riding on collided with a 1990 Chevy Astro Van.

According to the Department of Public Safety report, 71-year-old Freddie Joe Bartlett, of Purdon, the driver of the van, was west bound in the 16,000 block of FM 744 and was preparing to turn left into a private drive.

At about the time, Hill County residents Brandon Armstrong, 35, along with 46-year-old Debra Joyce Armstrong, who were riding on the motorcycle, approached the driveway entrance from the eastbound lane.

    Huge Crowd Braves Heat For Back-To-School Rally

    Despite triple digit temperatures, school students and grown-ups showed up in droves Saturday morning for the fourth annual Back To School/Stay In School Rally held at Fullerton-Garrity Park.

    Over 60 vendors were on hand, set up giving away free items ranging from school supplies, to health information, to college information, to discounts on food and clothing.

    IMPACT Navarro gave away 1,000 backpacks to students that morning.

    Jamie Richards To Perform Downtown
