We are always asked to buy locally when possible. When you spend a dollar outside Corsicana or Navarro County that is called a leakage in our own economy.
It hurts the local businesses and our sales tax numbers each month. The Chamber of Commerce Executive Director (Paul Hooper) puts it in print every chance he gets for good reason.
The city of Fairfield, Texas is working hard to stop the leakage from leaving their town. They have hired Buxton Company out of Fort Worth, Texas to assess what can be done to plug the leak. The goal is to identify the households and population, which creates a customer profile that describes the people and their buying habits in the language of the retailers.
