This past week we had a number of visitors and guests in our town attending the Texas Teenage Softball Association Junior Girls State Softball Tournament held in Mildred. From all accounts this was a successful tournament. Mildred coach Shane Farmer, who also serves as Mildred’s Little League president made the pitch to bring the state tournament to the Corsicana area and many others are to be congratulated on bringing this State tournament to our community. A special thank you to Margaret Thomas, Corsicana Development Commission Board member, who personally handed out welcome bags for all the participants at their cookout event this past Sunday and to all the merchants in our community who donated gift certificates to your establishments showcasing Corsicana’s hospitality and our community.
